Brilliant Painting!! Wonder why it hasn't sold!? Especially when you compare works like these in oils to the "pop art of the month flavor average art that is out there that is selling for millions. This can drive an artist crazy!

Artist's Description

A visual depiction of our future if we continue on a path of greed and corruption. I created this painting that was inspired by, you guessed it, the Palace of Fine Art in San Francisco. I started to create paintings from my usual bright, ultra vivid paintings of Sunsets and Sunrises in 2008 after the housing market bubble burst and millions of people lost their pensions, their jobs, etc.; simply due to Hedge fund managers of unregulated banks that went into default and they took the $$ they had, (About $1 Trillion Dollars) out of America, and got away scott free!! No major banker was punished in the slightest that nearly caused the financial collapse of America and the world due to their insatiable greed and "cooking the books". I started painting Ruins not realizing I was painting what was on my mind as a person that watches the Dow Jones and reads the WSJ. I knew the housing bubble would burst and nearly collapse this nation and it did burst, but thanks to some quick thinking, we av...

About James Hill

James Hill

James Christopher Hill was born in Charleston, South Carolina in 1966. After working as a professional artist in the early 1980's, James finally received formal training at the prestigious Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, FL. In 1998, he graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Computer Animation; a field that focused mainly on the understanding and discipline of master drawing and painting skills. His senior thesis entitled "Jataka" took home the Gold Oscar in the category of Best Student Computer Animation in 1998 from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. After he graduated he then returned to his love of painting utilizing his new skills and knowledge to create his ongoing style of...
