Artist's Description
East Bay Street House in Downtown Charleston SC - United States - in the French Quarter District. I created this painting in oils on canvas one day while walking downtown in this beautiful 17th-21st century city on the peninsula. I love walking around downtown and sketching and painting this one especially in Oils.
About James Hill
James Christopher Hill was born in Charleston, South Carolina in 1966. After working as a professional artist in the early 1980's, James finally received formal training at the prestigious Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, FL. In 1998, he graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Computer Animation; a field that focused mainly on the understanding and discipline of master drawing and painting skills. His senior thesis entitled "Jataka" took home the Gold Oscar in the category of Best Student Computer Animation in 1998 from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. After he graduated he then returned to his love of painting utilizing his new skills and knowledge to create his ongoing style of...
